Who writes this
Meet the team
Three editors split the site between them. Each one owns their subjects end to end, which is why a wedding guide and a hairstyle guide do not read like the same person wrote both.
Amara Vance
Celebrations & Weddings Editor
Amara covers celebrations and weddings — themes, table settings, running orders and the unglamorous logistics that decide whether a party actually runs well. She is happiest working out how to get a room from empty to finished in an afternoon, and will always tell you which half of a saved inspiration board is worth copying and which half is a photo set.

Brooke Callahan
Beauty & Style Editor
Brooke writes the beauty and fashion guides. She tries hairstyles on real hair rather than in a studio, sorts looks by how much time they honestly take on a weekday morning, and is blunt about the ones that only hold up on camera. If a look needs three things you already own, she will say so rather than send you shopping.

Elena Marchetti
Home, Food & Travel Editor
Elena handles decor, food and our new travel and science pages. She cooks for large groups more often than is reasonable, which is how most of the recipes here end up with a second draft. She likes ideas that survive contact with a small kitchen, a tight budget and guests who turn up early.

Our editorial standards
- ✓Every guide is written by a named editor, not a content mill.
- ✓We say what an idea costs and how long it takes before we recommend it.
- ✓Seasonal guides are revisited each year rather than left to age.
- ✓Affiliate links never decide what goes in a guide, and they are disclosed.
- ✓If a look only works in photographs, the guide says so.
- ✓Corrections get made in the post itself, not quietly deleted.
