About My Celeberations

Ideas that survive contact with a real occasion

The internet is not short of pretty pictures. It is short of guides that tell you how many candles you actually need, what the flowers cost, and which half of the idea to skip when the room is smaller than the one in the photo. That gap is the whole reason this site exists.

Why we started

Inspiration is easy. Execution is the hard part.

Most celebration content stops at the photograph. You save it, you come back to it a week before the party, and you realise nobody wrote down the part you actually needed — how long the setup takes, what it costs, whether it works in a room with bad lighting, and what to do when the florist is out of the one flower the whole look depends on.

My Celeberations was built to answer that second half. Every guide is written by someone who has put the idea in front of real guests, and it says plainly when something only works in photographs. If a look needs three things you already own, we say so rather than send you shopping.

The subjects have grown over time — celebrations first, then beauty and fashion, then home, food and phone wallpapers, and most recently travel and the odd bit of science behind why gatherings work the way they do. What has not changed is the test we apply before publishing: could a reader do this on Saturday?

Who writes this

Three editors, three desks

Each one owns their subjects end to end, which is why a wedding guide and a hairstyle guide do not read like the same person wrote both.

How we work

What we hold ourselves to

  • ✓Every guide is written by a named editor, not a content mill.
  • ✓We say what an idea costs and how long it takes before we recommend it.
  • ✓Seasonal guides are revisited each year rather than left to age.
  • ✓Affiliate links never decide what goes in a guide, and they are disclosed.
  • ✓If a look only works in photographs, the guide says so.
  • ✓Corrections are made in the post itself, not quietly deleted.
